The size of this tv makes it very versatile. I appreciate the quality appearance and engineering. I am very happy with my purchase. The Viewsonic Model N1630w, that I received quickly from Amazon, is very impressive. The picture is superb hooked up to regular cable and the sound is very impressive for a small tv.
Otherwise, a great set for the money. I recommend the addition of a set of amplified multimedia speakers to be used in lieu of the less than adequate internal sound system. A great little HDTV mounted under cabinets in our kitchen. Excellent picture within a somewhat narrow viewing range.
While the sound is not a match for any bigger TV, the picture quality more than makes up for any sound deficiency. This HDTV is just right for the little office. The picture is fantastic using over-the-air signals for the High Def.
As a inexpensive TV for the kitchen it was a good choice. The sound is really, really awful. Once the warranty expires I will wire in a better speaker if the cat has not knocked it off the counter and destroyed it completely. This TV has an excellent picture and is easy to set up and use. However it must be viewed front on or close to front on or picture fades dramatically.
The bigest and pretty much only down side is the built in speakers. Just have something playing on it like a movie or game and have the volume kinda loud then load settings and turn treble down and even the Bass down cause it crumbles. It's a perfect little monitor for traveling especially. They are pretty cheap really crackly and loud. But seriously the good weight out the Bad so don't let the sound problem stop you from getting one of these bad boys. I use it in the military for when I go alot of places for training. It has a pretty clear picture quality, great for gameing (X-Box, Play Station 3)Though the other reviews are true.
